building the BFD library

Hi
I guess this might not be really within the domain of
this mailing list though it does seem to apply to
binutils in general so...
I've built a toolchain for arm-920t using
binutil-2.15, gcc-3.3.6, uclibc-0.9.27 (using
buildroot). However I
require the BFD library for compiling some
applications and this does not appear to be present
(bfd.h and libbfd.* are absent). From what info i've
read this library is part of binutils and
as such should have been built automatically.
I've found references to --enable-libbfd and
--enable-install-libbfd configuration options which i
have tried adding to the configure options used for
building binutils but to no avail.

Any info/suggestions on how i can build the BFD
library?

thanks
Carlos
