I built a 3.3.4 gcc cross compiler specifying a prefix of /opt/tools/gcc-i386-linux-2.4.21.
I then executed the resulting gcc with --print-search-dirs and noted that the library
search list is mostly within /opt/tools/... but it also included /usr/lib/gcc/i386-linux/3.3.4
This directory does not exist.
Does anybody know why was this path added?
I imagine it's an old attempt at a standard way to install compilers for lots of targets.
It would be nice to know how to disable it. Probably it would be an easy patch (just look at how -print-search-dirs is implemented and follow the trail backwards). - Dan
