Now, as to your specific problem, I guess you need to edit arch/arm/Makefile, and change: CFLAGS +=-mapcs-32 $(arch-y) $(tune-y) -mshort-load-bytes -msoft-float -Wa,-mno-fpu -Uarm AFLAGS +=-mapcs-32 $(arch-y) $(tune-y) -msoft-float -Wa,-mno-fpu to: CFLAGS +=-mapcs-32 $(arch-y) $(tune-y) -malignment-traps -msoft-float AFLAGS +=-mapcs-32 $(arch-y) $(tune-y) -msoft-float Here I assume that your gcc already passes the correct arguments to the assembler. (Did you use my gcc 3.4.0 softfloat patch, btw? If you did, you don't need the -msoft-float flag either.)
