Same here. The ability to burn bootloader code into flash w/o having to write any code saved me enough time that it paid for itself right away. Big plus: the BDI2000 supports GDB natively (it speaks the GDB "remote" protocol). All other current products[1] require that you run some sort of converter-daemon that talks "remote" to GDB and then talks some proprietary protocol to the JTAG interface. Some of those daemons are Windows-only, some will run on Linux, all are a PITA. [1] The EPI Jeeni is supported directly by GDB since it speaks the ADP protocol which is what is used by the "rdi" target module in GDB. The Jeeni is a fine product, but AFAICT has more or less been obsoleted by a newer product (Magik) that speaks some proprietary protocol that requires a converter-daemon when used with GDB. -- Grant Edwards grante@visi.com ------ Want more information?
