  Thanks for that Chris.  I'm running wincvs 1.0.6 myself, which
doesn't have this feature; what version are you running ?

[ I know it's way out of date, but I've never been bothered by the
 problem myself since I tend to work in Cygwin and just take it for
 granted I'm going to have to fix line ends all the time! ]

  Oh, and just to add my own tip along a similar line, WinZIP also
has such a checkbox, controlling how it extracts lineends from .tar
files - this is worth knowing about for anyone else who regularly
opens .tar.gz files using it!  It's under Options/Configuration/
Miscellaneous/TAR file smart CR/LF conversion.  (Be careful, though,
since winzip doesn't extract softlinks from a .tar.gz in any form
that cygwin would recognize.)
