FATAL Assembler Message

Sir,

The command  C:\CYGNUS\MYPROJS\PROJFLASHER> gcc -m2 -c -g flasher.c
gives following error messages:-


C:\CYGNUS\MYPROJS/cc000042.s:Assembler messages
C:\CYGNUS\MYPROJS/cc000042.s:144:FATAL: Can't create flasher.o:Permission
denied

Anyone out there have any clues what this means and what I am doing wrong
please?
