[Stephane Dalton] Make sure you've take a look at the specs file used by gcc... (you can find the path using the -v switch) under the *link section you should see -Tsomething.ld%s and under *lib section you sould see (typically) the same -lsomething -lc if those sections are empty that might be your problem.
