Configuring for ppc860-elf

Hi,
I am running gcc in a bash-shell under WinNT and want to cross compile
for a ppc860. From what I understand I need to configure gcc, besides
setting the correct options when compiling. How do I configure? I have
tried ' $configure --powerpc-elf ' which returns a message saying that '
configure: command not found '.
