-mrelax on Hitachi SH

I have a problem with switch statements when using -mrelax with sh-coff-gcc Version 2.95.2 does anyone know whether this is supported, the documentation for gcc says it is and the doc for ld does not mention the SH.

Any help would be appreciated.
