Relocating .text & .data sections to non-defult addresses

Hi,..

I am new to this game and am trying to build a cross-compiler to an embedded 
system with a custom os. I have it all working except that i dont know how 
to move the sections within our COFF objects to a diffrent 'Absolute' 
address.

Do i have to learn to write linker conf scripts or can i just use objcopy to 
move the base address ?
