Re: New maintainer of score target for binutils

Hi Brain,

I am from sunplus company, and volunteer to become new maintainer of score
target for binutils.

That is very good to hear.

Is there some special procedure for above requirement?

You need three things:

* A copyright assignment in place with the FSF for contributions to the binutils project.

* A demonstrated ability to create patches for the binutils which follow all the guidelines. (Ie they work, they have been tested, they are documented and the follow the GNU Coding Standard).

* Write permission on the binutils CVS server so that you can commit Score patches.

Oh and:

* Some time available to monitor the binutils lists for Score patches as well as performing any necessary maintainance or improvements to the Score port.

The second point is important as you need to know both how to create your own patches and how to review patches from others. Basically you need to establish a reputation on the binutils mailing list for submitting good patches before you can start reviewing patches from others.

Cheers
  Nick
