Configuring in binutils
creating cache ./config.cache
checking for Cygwin environment... yes
checking for mingw32 environment... no
configure: error: can only configure for one host and one target at a time
make: *** [configure-binutils] Error 1

Any idea of what might be wrong?

Not really :-(

Have you tried a complete clean and rebuild ?

It sounds like the configure files might have been generated from the configure.in files in a way that is somehow inconsistent or incompatible with your environment. Perhaps if you tried regenerating them by hand you might be able to fix things ?
