Since binutils@sources.redhat.com is the acknowledged bug reporting
address, there are a lot of posts by non-members.  A moderation system
would only work if there were several moderators who agreed to be very
responsive to posts.

sources.redhat.com is run entirely by volunteers.  Red Hat donates the
system and the network connection.  Any volunteers to be moderators,
and any volunteers to set up a moderation system?  Actually, the
latter should be simple, as the mailing lists are managed by
ezmlm+idx, which I believe includes moderator support.

Chris Faylor invests a great deal of personal time in blocking spam
messages on sources.redhat.com.  I think he does a phenomenal job.
The number of spam messages sent to the system is remarkable, and in
fact almost all of them are blocked.
