I installed the autotools as recommended in src/README-maintainer-mode
but the problem remains: The generated files (i.e. Makefile.in) have
missing continuation lines (the previous line has a backslash as its
last character). I presume it has something to do with the newline
character on cygwin-Windows systems being a CRLF as opposed to just a
LF on Unix.
What tool versions do other people use for binutils development on
cygwin? Is there a version of autotools that works properly? Or is it a
different tool that causes the problem?
You know how annnoying it is to spend such a lot of time debugging the
tools instead of doing what you're supposed to do...
Thanks for any help
Stefan
