7.18. Running Regression Tests on a Database Cluster

Control Center enables you to run the PostgreSQL regression tests, if they have been installed on the server. Note that this works only for the RPM-installed Engine and that it uses the RPM-created Cluster rhdb to store the test database regression.

To run the regression tests, select Init => Regression Tests. This functionality is not yet available in Control Center 1.0 Beta.

	Running the regression tests removes all data currently in an existing regression database.

The system opens a window that displays the console output produced by the regression tests. The end of this log gives the location of more detailed test results.

Control Center creates files in /tmp for the test run. These files are not deleted by Control Center after the tests are run: they are either overwritten on a new run or removed by the system whenever /tmp files are cleaned up. A database named regression is also created in the Cluster and is not deleted by Control Center (use Administrator to remove it).
