that says go up to the parent, then select all the cell children, then
select all pos attributes of all the cells.

So your node set contains all the attributes, you just get the first as
value-of is defined to give the string value of teh first node in a node
set.

If you want th epos attribute of a parent you want
 parent::*/@pos or more simply ../@pos
but I don't think you want the attribute of the parent at all. In your
 for-each the current node is always a cell so you want th epos
 attribute of the current node, not its parent, that is
  select="@pos"
