outputting &nbsp to HTML (final answer for everybody?)

after so much discussion "&nbsp" question is clear for me now (hope for everyone also):

using disable-output-escaping involve some risk: non-well-formed documents
possibility and should be used with caution only when the potential dangers
are understood BUT it can be used if necessary (esoteric reasons included)
and no other solution is founded

right conclusion? guru-aproved? everybody happy again? yes? so let's restore
the hight level of sympathy around here (I'll pay next round of digital beers for all)
Mike K.: maybe this "<xsl:text disable-output-escaping="yes"> </xsl:text>"
is a joke but a working one for my and my circunstances. I love laughing

THANKS everybody contributing with explanations and solutions.
my APOLOGIZE to everybody I've disturbed with the most famous issue in the list
specialy to Mark Nahabedian who sent me a personal mail and I answer in public
way and that was an (my) error. Some stern advices seem unpolite if they are
a consecuence of supposing importand details but no need to worry bout this Mark.

I'll ask D.Pawson to improve the "nbsp" FAQ with all the info collected so next time
the answer to a newbie about "outputting &nbsp to HTML" bill be as simple as
visit http://www.dpawson.co.uk/xsl/sect2/nbsp.html and no nore precious time wasted
Trevor N. found quite hard to locate definitive answers (at nbsp FAQ) on this subject
which cover all the angles but same task took two minutes to Mark N., this nice
controversy shows that sometimes is hard to find the answer best suits your circunstances

I promise (yes I do Mike B) to give better explanations next time I send some "ugly"
solution to make everyone stay in calm (I heard Julian Reschke "ARDHH!" from the
city I live) and not being misunderstood.

ok time for that mentioned beer right now

by the way, does anybody know how to output the Euro (€) sign to html?
(this IS a joke but sure someone is gonna ask it sooner or later, maybe me)
