last-substring ls str = first-substring reverse(ls) reverse(str)
An implementation of the reverse() function can be found at:
http://sources.redhat.com/ml/xsl-list/2001-11/msg00488.html
The first index of a substring is:
string-length(substring-before(ls, str))
