If you use disable-output-encoding it may or may not make any difference
(the xslt spec allows xslt engines to ignore this attribute) Also it is
almost always a sign that something is wrong with the design of your
stylesheet. Further more, if you are writing out xml and do this then
the resulting file is not well formed and result in a fatal error in any
XML parser unless a suitable dtd is also specified.

Since <xsl:text disable-output-escaping="yes">&#38;nbsp;</xsl:text>
has all these problems, and it is so much easier to type &#160; that has
none of them, it isn't usually a good idea to suggest to people that
they use this method.
