What platform, and version of Xerces are you using? What is the encoding
of the input XML?
When you say "when I try to run it on the output", do you mean you're
passing an instance of a Xerces DOM document to Xalan? If Xalan is dying,
how and where is it dying?
Question marks usually indicate that the output transcoder cannot represent
those characters in the local character set.

This has probably been answered before, but I can't find it. When I run
Xerces on XML that has Unicode characters beyond the Basic Latin ones, I
get
question marks when I try and print them out, and Xalan dies when I try to
run it on the output. Can someone point me in the right direction?
