Xconq transition to C++, initial phase complete

The initial C++ transition is now complete. I have a source tree which
compiles as C or C++ with either gcc2, g++2, gcc3 and g++3 on linux. Hans
has also built it with Metrowerks. I have play tested xconq as both C and
C++ programs.

I next propose to objectise some parts of the kernel (world and lisp
probably) to get an insight into what kind of effort is likely to be
involved. By which of course you will all realise that my job search is
still not fruitful.

Ed
