That's not my recollection.  I think you picked the "ai control" menu
item twice or something.

Not that I can verify, because picking the menu item now gives me an
error like:

    Map command "plan-defensive" not recognized!

Anyway, I'm sure your semi-automatic code is an improvement over
whatever happened to work some time ago.  Although I will say that the
only problem I really found was (a) whether the algorithm was to my
liking, and (b) it didn't work for networked play.  I used for a while
and didn't see core dumps and the like.
