I've just checked in some display improvements for tcl/tk Xconq,
in particular the old nuclear detonation "movie" is now revived,
and the screen flashing works right again. So now nuclear bombs
in the standard game and car bombs in the beirut game look the
way they're supposed to.
I also tweaked the beirut game so that car bombs can "attack"
by clicking on the target, rather than just blowing up at their
current location. This basically simulates the ability of the
suicide bomber to drive into an enemy position before blowing
himself to Paradise, and makes them more useful offensively.
BTW, has anyone played beirut extensively? The units still seem
to get "used up" pretty quickly, which suggests that either the
starting numbers should be higher or some sort of manufacturing
capability should be added. It would be cool to have an option
for the different sides to have different mixes of units too...
