My favourites are:
1. Time: combat through the ages. By far the most interesting game in the
library. The only
one I ever played for more than 50 turns.
2. WWII Advanced Europe. Complicated, but still playable.
3. Roman Civil War. Very nice map. Could use a few more "real history"
variants, though.
It is a little boring to start with the battle of Actium every time!
4. Russian Revolution. Reasonably fast and playable with some interesting
units such as
terrorists and armoured trains.
5. Flattop battles. A very nice little game which is really fast. My
favourite game for
debugging new code.
Games that don't work. Well, some games in the lib folder are obviously
prototypes, which
are not intended for play. This includes Fred, Duel, Monster and Hill.
Chess has a bug which
causes a run error each turn. However, most of the games you get on the
start game menu are
playable. I used to have problems with the Peloponessian War, but it seems
to work OK now.
