Tracepoints and markers both currently store their parameters in hidden
probe-locals, and then read those values with a kludged function. That means
that every single parameter gets a separate function, and no merging is possible
since the function bodies are reading from unique probe_### locals.
It would be better if they could access those hidden locals directly. I think
this just needs the unparser to learn how to emit code for these $target
variables as a special circumstance.
