I didn't say it was a crisis. But I find it dubious to have an 
integrated source
tree that is not on a regular (i.e. daily) basis tested *as an 
integrated tree*.
Perhaps I've gotten spoiled working with gcc, where it is standard operating
procedure to 3-stage the entire tree.  We also have tools to check out and
build the entire tree, run the testsuite, and send email complaints 
about failures.
It has been suggested that the gcc source tree should be merged with the 
'src'
tree; that cannot happen unless the 'src' is brought to a higher standard.
