libthread_db.so.1 currently links to
$(DESTDIR)$(toollibdir)/libthread_db.so. My previous patch instead
linked it to libthread_db.so. My current patch links it to
libthread_db-newlib.so.0.0.0.

relative symlink will do and is more mobile.
