Sorry, I don't read every email to newlib.  Regardless, mentioning a
plan to implement something two months ago doesn't innoculates you from
comment when you submit a patch now.

I, again, don't see a strong need to define functions in newlib which
rely on specific OS behavior, like the existence of an "__argv"
variable.

But, it's not my call.  It's Jeff Johnston's decision.
