NewLib-1.8.2 does not compile on Redhat 6.1?

Hi,

I recently downloaded NewLib-1.8.2 and I have a Pentium III based RedHat
6.1 linux installation.

Here is what I get:
tar -zxvf newlib-1.8.2.tar.gz

cd newlib-1.8.2

[1014]$ ./configure
Configuring for a i686-pc-linux-gnu host.
Created "Makefile" in /home/psingh/newlib/newlib-1.8.2 using "mt-frag"
Configuring etc...
creating cache ../config.cache
checking for a BSD compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
updating cache ../config.cache
creating ./config.status
creating Makefile
[1015]$ make
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/psingh/newlib/newlib-1.8.2/etc'
make[1]: Nothing to be done for `all'.
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/psingh/newlib/newlib-1.8.2/etc'
[1016]$

I can't figure out what is going on?

Thanks
Pawan
