I could use some help testing this release on other architectures.
Sending me the results of "make check" would be very helpful (and
patches even more so).
cygwin on winxpsp2, gcc-3.4.4 -O2 fails.
No time for patches yet, sorry, but it looks similar to my perl
C::DynaLib failures with this gcc-3.4.4.
