Which is a shame, and I think a rather short-sighted move. It implies
that Linux is the only kernel worth supporting *ever*. I can't speak for
any other port maintainers but certainly for Syllable a move towards a
more Linux-centric Glibc would certainly back our entire project into a
corner.

I also don't see how such a situation could develop while Hurd remains a
GNU project, but I am not an expert on Hurd nor the dynamics of the
various GNU projects. Of course this is mostly speculation on my part,
and I am no expert on the situation.
