(Trimming the Cc: list, AFAIK the Ubuntu lists restrict posting to
subscribers.)
I think you should try to get a coredump with debug symbols. This
shouldn't be too hard. Valgrind might change the shape of the heap,
so the consistency checks may not trigger.
