Could you let us know once you have confirmation from the FSF that they've
received your assignment? We can then check it's properly listed in
copyright.list. In general maintainers may not want to study substantial
patches in detail without an assignment in place, in case the assignment
never happens and the maintainers later want to implement their own patch
for the same issue.
