OK to checkin.
You probably want to make sure David is OK with changes like this.
We've had some recent discussions over what is and is not appropriate
during a freeze, and while this is unlikely to cause any problems,
it's finally up to David.
Joseph's arguments have slowly begun to sink in with me and convince
me that perhaps some kinds of changes are still OK in a freeze :-)
