Ugh. I know you don't give a shit about anybody else, but...

With a simple change like the one proposed, the maintenance involved
in header updates for all the -ports would be reduced to next to
nothing, and at a cost of nothing.

Stop pretending like this would somehow be stepping on your toes,
making things more difficult for you.
