Not making that claim. The gnu libc developers make every effort to follow
appropriate standards, though. There are usually good reasons why
glibc does not 100% meet POSIX, in those cases where it does not.
As for threads, there are efforts underway to produce better-conforming
threads packages for glibc. In any case, the POSIX document I referred you
to is a good start for understanding the thread-safety requirements.
