    Well there still is the prelinking issue in any case. Even
if the libnss changes that break these programs are regressed,
if the binaries in question were built with a binutils older
than March 2002 these programs will segfault as soon as any
prelinking is done on the system. So while it might be nice
to make sure the api hasn't changed enough to cause the breakage
you are seeing, a rebuild of these problem programs will be needed
in any case to allow them to survive prelinking ld.so.
