Is -lmcheck thread-safe in glibc 2.0.7 on Linux 2.2x?

The subject says it all.  I'm having trouble debugging using -lmcheck in a
multithreaded program where mprobe() fails and another thread is deep inside
malloc().

Is using mprobe() safe in a multithreaded environment on Linux with 2.0.7 or do
I need a newer version?
