Re: [PATCH] Support Cygwin network paths in tcl

Is this in the upstream Tcl distro?

Likely not.

I'm not really sure how I feel about maintaining a branch. I'm still trying (albeit feebly) to whack tcl et al from the repository altogether.

It might make sense to add a reference to upstream in MAINTAINERS then.

www.tcl.tk for more tcl information.

Alas, last I checked, cygwin was a deprecated platform for Tcl due to the lack of a maintainer. I don't know if this has changed, but I guess I shouldn't take that risk.

That means that if insight is to continue to run on windows, I would need to maintain patches to enable cygwin on tcl or maintain our current copy for the benefit of cygwin users. I don't particularly like either solution, but I don't see that I have a choice unless a cygwin Tcl maintainer materializes.

So given those constraints, I don't see a problem with the patch. I'll wait a few days, and if there aren't any unsurmountable objections, I'll commit it.

Keith
