Someone once complained about our status/help line.
Well, I find it cute. But please feel free to speak up.
The itcl mainwindow allows the status line at the bottom (like ours) to
be divided horizontally into a status area (to the right) and a help area
(to the left). IMO it looks ugly.
Playing devil's advocate, one could say that our status may become clobbered
if the user accidentally leaves the cursor over something that has help.
I could add a timer so that the help text only stays there for a while, like
the tooltips do, so this would not be a problem anymore.
We also have temporary status (like downloading) that temporarily displace the
overall status (which comes back after the temporary condition goes away).
Once I added (in my sandbox) a second line to the status, but it got heavier.
While the temporary condition is on, the permanent one should not matter anyway
(that was probably the thinking when it was designed).
I would leave the status as it is, but that is just my personal opinion.
