Something I've wanted in Insight for a long time is multiple source
windows. ISTR that there was some code to do this, but it was never
enabled.
In my precursor to Insight I had this working. Source windows were
reused LRU. As I remember there was also a "lock" button that you
could use to prevent Insight from changing the file displayed in a
particular window. (I'd have to check out my old sources to be sure.)
This, btw, is something else I miss whenever I switch from Emacs back
to Insight. In Emacs I have fairly good control over which files are
displayed where. For instance I can open another frame and put the
source file I care about there, and know that Emacs will use it to
display debug info when the current frame is in that file -- but Emacs
won't randomly change the frame contents on me.
Maybe this has to wait for the source window rewrite? :-(.
Something else for the to-do list is to lift the syntax highlighting
code from S-N and reuse it in Insight. Some people don't like syntax
highlighting, but I find it indispensible.
