I sense the same lack of focus with RMS's idea to have translators for
*all* languages so as to make *all* GNU programs extensible for *all*
users, in *every* way they want. (So, I'm exaggerating, but you get
the idea).
The idea he will get is the result of your exaggeration. You've
exaggerated a feasible and useful plan, supporting some popular
scripting languages with translators, into an absurdity. Which just
goes to show that you can turn anything into an absurdity by
exaggerating it.
I fear that Our Great Leader will not coax but push developers into
pursuing his focusless vision.
I will push with all my might until we have a few useful translators;
but I can't force any particular person to work on them. So if you
are not interested in working on translators, you don't have to--but
please don't try to stop it from being done.
