Well, I'm interested in real threads, for one.  MzScheme and Rice
Scheme both seem to have them, and I *need* them for some projects at
work on multi-cpu Suns.

And BTW, there was a patch posted to the list a long time ago that
made a good initial attempt at putting real thread support.  This is
another place where patches have been ignored.
