In recent snapshots, the external name for the root module is
`guile-user'. This means that the two expressions:

	(set-current-module the-root-module)
and
	(define-module (guile-user))

should be the same (I haven't tried this though).

If you want your own the-foobar-module variable, you could something
like this, in a file using the foo module:

	(define-module (foo bar baz))
	(define-public the-foo-bar-baz-module)

but using 

	(resolve-module '(foo bar baz))

as thi showed is of course just as good.
