Re: emacs with guile instead of elisp

Jim has described these Emacs plans accurately.

Meanwhile, someone else is already mostly finished rewriting Emacs
redisplay.  It supports variable width and variable height characters,
and soon should support including images in the buffer.  So there's no
need to do that; however, once the new version is installed, there
will be many follow-on changes we could use.
