GSL-1.4 on an Apple G5

- Subject: GSL-1.4 on an Apple G5
Has anyone successfully compiled GSL on a G5 running Mac OS X? I'm
using Apple's modified GCC 3.3 and everything works fine without
optimization, and also with "-O2", however, "-fast" (which turns on the
G5-specific options) does not. The compiler crashes when compiling
fp-darwin.c in ieee-utils. It is possible to get everything to compile
by lowering the optimization for "ieee-utils" and "monte", however,
"make check" fails. I guess none of this is terribly surprising given
that the "-fast" option mucks around with 64-bit optimizations, but it
is unfortunate because those optimizations lead to fairly substantial
increases in speed...
Thanks,
Magnus
