Re: multimin question

Hi all,

Here's a link to the documentation for MINUIT, a minimization package
which is part of the CERN libraries. It may be a bit clunky, it may be
a bit old - geez, it's written in Fortran (or maybe Algol :))- but this
package is the backbone of a awful lot of high energy and nuclear
physics analyses. I don't think there's really a fleshed-out design
plan for the multimin part of GSL, so perhaps this would help establish
the kinds of capabilities some researchers have found useful in a
minimization package. Just one example - MINUIT can report a covariance
matrix - crucial for understanding the uncertainty in the determinatio
of the minimum. Anyway, here's hoping it's useful:

Cheers,
Dave
