Re: multimin question

Hi Brian, Fabrice,

I tried adding the call to gsl_ieee_env_setup() in my little test
program and it doesn't seem to have had the hoped-for effect. I was
able to reproduce the IEEE example in the info docs, so I don't think
I'm making wildly boneheaded mistakes - when I run my test program, I
even get the little message:

# GSL_IEEE_MODE="double-precision" ./multimin
GSL_IEEE_MODE="double-precision,trap-common"

I'm not sure I grok Fabrice's diagnosis - if this is related to a cut on
the norm of the gradient, it's not obvious to me why shifting the
function by a constant offset would matter.

Cheers,
Dave
