Thanks for the bug report. I've passed your message on to Tim Mooney
who has provided the alpha IEEE support. I believe the -mieee flag
enables support for floating point exception handling. As you say, it
isn't mentioned in the documentation for gcc-2.7.2 -- so it may be a
feature of later versions of gcc only.
Apart from the functions to set the exception handlers in the
ieee-utils/ directory the rest of GSL won't be affected.
