problem with updating glibc 2.1.3

Hi all,
I replaced the original stripped version glibc-2.1.3 with an unstripped
version glibc-2.1.3 on Mandrake 7.2. After doing that, some applications
like vi and gdb generate segmentation fault.
Is there anybody has some idea about that?
